I empower overwhelmed parents to cultivate intentional awareness of their screen habits, reduce overstimulation, and foster deeper, more meaningful connections—without guilt, shame, or an unrealistic all-or-nothing approach. I love traveling, hiking in nature, going on day dates with my husband, and enjoying simple everyday moments with our family! 

As a wife, a mom of two rainbow babies (and three precious ones in heaven), and having professional experience as a Licensed Social Worker, I’ve been where you are—juggling it all while trying to create a peaceful, connected home.

The past fourteen years have taught me a lot about navigating overwhelm. Between grief, career changes, and the joys + challenges of growing our family, I’ve seen how easy it is to fall into cycles of overstimulation and default to utilizing screens as an outlet for relief.

MY STORY

 

I know what it feels like to be stretched thin—torn between work, family, and the constant pull of screens. Through my own experience as a Licensed Social Worker and a mom, I thought I had the tools to manage it all. But even with my background in mental health, I watched as overstimulation and digital distractions slowly crept into our home. We weren’t falling apart but we weren’t thriving either. The days felt rushed, conversations were interrupted, and deep down, I knew we were missing the everyday moments that our family needed as the anchor of stability.

I didn’t want our home to be filled with half-hearted interactions and emotional short fuses. I craved peace, presence + connection. So this is where I became intentional and where I dug deep—into research, into real-life trial and error, and into what actually works for families like mine and yours. What I found changed everything. With simple, practical strategies, we began to reclaim our rhythm. Less chaos + disconnection filled with more calm, meaningful moments of connection. I could finally breathe again—and more importantly, so could my kids.

That journey became the foundation of Unplugged Family Roots.

With over 14 years of experience supporting families as a mental health professional, I now work as a digital detox coach—equipping parents just like you build homes that reflect their deepest values. I specialize in the impact of screen use on interpersonal skills and child development—from brain growth to emotional regulation to social skills—and I blend that expertise with real-life tools that meet you right where you are.

This work isn’t just my profession...it’s my passion. I’ve lived it, I know how overwhelming it can feel, and I also know what’s possible on the other side.
